Moni Tivony is a Singer/Songwriter... He has been singing ever since he could speak. Growing up he was influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Jodeci, Dru Hill, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown & Motown generally.
By the time he reached his teens, people started recognising his talent, and at 16 whilst singing at a karaoke he met Rob D'Riche one half of the widely respected Bass-line duo R1 and struck up a great friendship.They then co wrote and recorded two tracks, giving Moni his first experience in recording original music. At 18 he met Lally and DJ Para who run D.E.A Entertainments, an independent label based in South London. While working with them he recorded some new Garage, RnB and Soul tracks. One track "Whats on your mind", was released on white label and did well.Through this he travelled to Barbados to showcase his material, performing in many clubs. Malta was Moni's next destination where he performed at Music Mania, a big event for new upcoming artists, where he also appeared on local TV and Radio. He performed at The Urban Music Seminar in '03... By '04 he was given a publishing deal with Rollover Studios, and was writing for other artists as well as recording material for his own album. In '05 he co wrote the song on Peter Andre's album "World of her own". At present Moni performs at events such as The 291 Theatre, and Lovers Rock Shows. November '05 Moni was introduced to top producer 2PLAY,who's hits include "so confused" and current single "Mad About The Boy". Moni has since recorded "Close 2 u" and the soon to be released track "That's Wat The Girls Like" due to be released later this year.They have also been working on new material for Moni's album.
